Fête de l'Humanité 2018: From Josette Audin to Ahed Tamimi, an edition marked by the struggles for freedom and memory

There are certain editions of the Festival that we never forget. So much so that they become a time marker. For some, "it's the year"... they got married in a booth, joined a party, met Angela Davis... For us, it's 2018.
The one where a happy ending played out on the stage of the Agora at the Fête de l'Humanité, embodied by the frail figure of Josette Audin. The Agora has experienced magical moments and thunderous applause over the years.
But nothing compares to this September 14th, and the ovation that greeted this 87-year-old woman, who came to share with her family, both intimate and political, a historic victory: the recognition, the day before, by Emmanuel Macron, of the state crime committed against her husband, Maurice Audin.
