Minister Delegate for Transport and previously for Europe in the government of Élisabeth Borne, Clément Beaune has been High Commissioner for Strategy and Planning since this year . In this context, he is the author of two alarming reports published last June on education. The first concerns the shortage of teachers but also the lack of attractiveness of the profession, leading some to drop out. The second focuses on the worrying level of French students compared to international students.
Two particularly topical subjects a few days before the start of the school year which will take place on Monday, September 1st .
The day before this meeting with readers, Tuesday 26th, and after a tour of schools in Meurthe-et-Moselle, Clément Beaune will participate in a public debate organized by the city of Nancy, in the presence of Mayor Mathieu Klein. It will take place at 7 p.m. in the Grand Salon of the town hall. The theme - "Our school, our children - General mobilization" - echoes the two reports authored by Clément Beaune and which " sound like serious warnings about the state of our schools and their dysfunctions ," the City of Nancy worries in a press release. " The academic level of French students is worrying and this affects all backgrounds. Furthermore, the quality and fairness of the public education service are threatened by the lack of teaching staff. "
