After being delayed by Covid, what is the status of the municipal projects promised in Fayence? Mayor Bernard Henry takes stock

We met with Mayor Bernard Henry, who answered our questions, firstly about the specifications of the municipal program to date. "Indeed, we lost two and a half years on the implementation of the municipal program and it was only at the end of 2022 that we began to implement it. Given the complexity of public procurement rules, such as studies, the search for funding, and the implementation of projects, it takes, at best, between one and three years for small projects to be delivered."
Some examples? "The Medical Center, a €2.3 million project including tax which, despite the delays, was 80% financed by Europe, the Region, the Department and the Regional Health Agency (ARS). And the remaining 20% by the municipality. To complete this work, we have just resurfaced the Saint-Pierre car park to make the entire upper part of the village functional, which includes, in addition to the soon-to-be-delivered Medical Center, the pharmacy, the CCAS, and the La Roque residential home. Another example is the launch more than a year ago of the roadworks contracts in operation today but delayed due to two months of bad weather."
What about other projects? " We promised a kindergarten for each neighborhood, and this will be completed by the end of June. Next, there will be the installation of a lift for people with reduced mobility at the swimming pool, the resurfacing of the La Ferrage city stadium, securing access to the Château school, and the roofing of the nursery atrium..."
And the future town hall? "It is nearing completion, and we will move in at the beginning of July, thanks to 80% of the work completed by the town hall staff, whom I thank for their total commitment to this project."
