"Recognizing the State of Palestine is not enough": the left welcomes the words but expects action

For once, despite having governed for a year with a core alliance built with the right—and often relying on the leniency of the National Rally—the President of the Republic is conceding an important point to the left. By sending a letter to the President of the Palestinian Authority to announce France's recognition of a State of Palestine at the UN in September, Emmanuel Macron is giving credence to a demand historically supported by all the parties of the former New Popular Front.
