Saint-Étienne. Cinema: The Méliès Saint-François completes its major facelift

The Méliès Saint-François closed its doors on the evening of July 13 and will not reopen until Wednesday, August 27. As in 2024, the summer closure will have been much longer than usual, giving the cinema on Rue de la Valse time to complete its major facelift.
The establishment, which will soon be a hundred years old (it opened in 1928), is undergoing a major renovation project, carried out in two stages. Last year, Paul-Marie Claret (who took over Le France, which became Le Méliès Saint-François in 2014) invested €250,000 for the first phase of work : changing almost all the seats and carpets in the large and small rooms (358 and 122 seats respectively), changing the lighting, and repainting the rooms and spaces...
