Remilly-en-Montagne. Municipality and volunteers restore the town's bread oven

The Remilly-en-Montagne bread oven is getting a new lease of life thanks to the efforts of local volunteers to restore it. There's still a bit of work to be done before it can once again be used to prepare pizzas at events, with the aim of having it ready for the 2026 Carriolades.

Residents of Remilly-en-Montagne hope to soon be able to enjoy pizzas made in the village's bread oven again. The oven, which was regularly used at events in the town, is currently being renovated after its roof collapsed last year. "The vault of the oven began to collapse. The roof was made of lava, and we think the slope wasn't sufficient for water drainage, as we saw that there were leaks in the roof," explains the town's mayor, Marc Chevillon.
