One day, one story. Gastronomy: Romain Barthe, a chef born here and awarded stars elsewhere

Metz is where the Michelin Guide France 2025 awards were unveiled on March 31st, and Romain Barthe's name was mentioned. Metz is also where, some three decades ago, this young man from the Meuse region left for Bar-le-Duc after his middle school years to study for a technical baccalaureate at the hotel school.
Like a nod to the past for this now forty-year-old from Lorraine, who has just been awarded his first star. He has since placed it prominently on the facade of L'Auberge de Clochemerle in Beaujolais, which he has run since 2007 with Delphine, his wife and sommelier at the establishment.
A first star, then, but not the first for chef Barthe. "I earned my first in 2012 before losing it in 2021," he recalls with emotion. It must be said that he had gone to a good school...
