Meurthe-et-Moselle. A31 between Nancy and Metz: the dates of the next closures are known.

Although traffic has been restored and speed limits are no longer imposed, further closures are planned for the next two weeks at the Autreville viaduct. This time, and likely the last, the work will involve resurfacing on both sides of the structure and restoring the horizontal signaling.
To achieve this, it will still be necessary to cut traffic from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., during the nights of Monday, September 8 to Thursday, September 11, in the direction of Nancy towards Metz. Then, the following week, still at night, from Monday, September 15 to Thursday, September 18, this will affect the direction of Metz towards Nancy. During the night cuts, diversions will be put in place, which motorists are starting to become familiar with.
In the Nancy-Metz direction, the motorway will be closed at Belleville. Users will take the S13 route to the Lesménils interchange (via Pont-à-Mousson). In the Metz-Nancy direction, the motorway will be closed at Atton. Users will take the S14 route to the Belleville interchange (via Pont-à-Mousson). As usual, an additional night is planned, from Thursday to Friday, in case of bad weather or technical problems.
Furthermore, a speed limit of 70 km/h will be implemented on September 9 and 10 (from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.) in the Nancy to Metz direction. This will also be the case in the Metz to Nancy direction on September 16 and 17. There, a detailed inspection of the structure will be carried out to verify the conformity of the work carried out. However, this will be done without closing traffic. Users are nevertheless "called upon to be vigilant and to reduce their speed in order to protect those working on this structure."
As for the structural test, carried out by driving loaded trucks over the viaduct to ensure its resistance to traffic, it took place without incident during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. "Even if all the results are not yet known, the bridge is still there! There are no problems," assures Catherine Motsch, Dir-Est project manager for the Autreville viaduct. After these final adjustments, motorists will finally be able to travel, without any restrictions, on this section of the A31 .
The project, which will run from autumn 2021 to summer 2025, will have cost 53 million euros invested by the State and the Grand Est Region.
