Haute-Loire. Workplace Accidents: Stable Figures, But Two Deaths Already This Year

Last year, the department recorded 2,024 workplace accidents in establishments affiliated with the general scheme, including one fatality. For the first half of 2025, the figures have not yet been consolidated, but two fatal accidents have already been recorded. The most frequent accidents involve manual handling (60%), falls from the same level (10%), and falls from a height (7%).
The most affected sectors are temporary work service activities: health, assistance, care, cleaning, construction, as well as trade and the food industry. No particular territorial deviation is observed compared to the Auvergne region, which demonstrates a consistent claims profile across the region.
