In 2024, for the sixth consecutive year, France is recognized as the most attractive country in Europe for international investors, according to the EY barometer published Wednesday, May 14 and consulted by franceinfo. The specialist firm identified a total of 1,025 foreign business projects, a decrease of 14% compared to the previous year .
In 2024, there will be 29,000 job creations linked to foreign direct investment, 10,000 fewer than in 2023, according to the EY barometer. The specialist firm believes that this decline is linked in particular to labor costs: some costs in France are equivalent to those in Germany but remain higher than those in Spain, Portugal, or the United Kingdom.
According to EY, the energy and agri-food sectors are doing well, while the chemicals and automotive sectors suffered significantly in 2024.
