Economy: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, second most attractive French region according to this barometer

According to the latest EY barometer of attractiveness in France in 2025, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region remains in second place.
The 2025 France Attractiveness Barometer, published by the audit and consulting firm EY, ranks the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region as the second most attractive region in France in 2024, unsurprisingly behind the Île-de-France region. The region recorded 14% of foreign investment in France, which generated 2,529 jobs over the period, according to the EY barometer.
On a European scale, the 146 foreign investment projects hosted by Aura place it in 4th place in Europe. This attractiveness is further enhanced by the Lyon metropolitan area, which hosted 48 projects, creating a total of 871 jobs.
" Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is the leading French region for industrial site openings and also stands out as the leading producer of carbon-free electricity in France ," the local authority added in a press release. Finally, the barometer highlights regional difficulties regarding the lack of available land, high labor costs, and implementation delays.
