This September, the Champcevinel town hall opens its doors to two artists, Christine Wadoux and Marie-Christine Lamotte Capette, for an exhibition of paintings of different styles and natures.

Promoting art and culture, the municipality of Champcevinel encourages exhibitions of the artistic expression of new artists. It was through exceptional and enriching encounters that Christine Wadoux discovered watercolor in the 90s with André Gauthier, who would become her mentor and allow her to participate in exhibitions and competitions. In 2010, she began working with pastels with Patrick Bigeard. Through these encounters, the artist expanded her circle of painter friends, allowing her to evolve both artistically and personally. "I pay as much attention to the person who creates the work as to the work itself." Her mindset is to "paint with her heart, following her emotions with sincerity and passion," focusing her works on simple subjects from nature and landscapes, with a penchant for chickens, which she depicts in different forms.

Highlighting movement

A self-taught painter, Marie-Christine Lamotte Capette developed a passion for pencils and painting as a teenager, which she worked on and perfected through various workshops, as well as the Fine Arts Society. The latter allowed her to have her own studio and practice various modes of expression: oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel, and even other materials, and to exhibit throughout the Dordogne and win several awards.

Favoring a creative and intuitive approach in her paintings, while highlighting movement, the origin of life. She tries, as she says, to give light, dreams or realism to people who project themselves into a painting. 'Works that can be both looked at and listened to.

The exhibition is being held in the council chamber of Champcevinel town hall, until September 29th during town hall opening hours. Contact us at 05 53 03 86 86. Paintings may be purchased.
