Television. NOVO19: the Ouest-France group's channel arrives on TNT this Monday

Following the arrival of T18 on June ^1st , the NOVO19 channel, launched by the regional press group Ouest-France, will officially be launched on TNT this Monday, September 1st, at 6 p.m., on channel 19 as well as on the boxes of the main operators (Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Free), MyCanal and Molotov, completing the cycle of a TNT that has been disrupted for several months.

This free general-interest channel takes one of the frequencies left vacant by C8 and NRJ12 , removed from digital terrestrial television. The project, approved by Arcom a year ago, is a first in French audiovisual history: never before has a free national channel been conceived and established outside of Paris. The name NOVO19 was chosen by combining "we + you," symbolizing a media that aims to unite, with the desire to represent all territories. The channel wants to "offer television that more closely resembles the lives of the French," explains general manager Guénaëlle Troly on Ouest-France .

NOVO19 will offer two important daily events: at 6:10 p.m., Monday to Friday, Martin Cangelosi (formerly of France Télévisions, BFMTV, iTélé) will present the 15-minute news program entitled On a de l'info . Filmed live from Rennes, this news program will cover local, national, and international news, but will leave a large part of the story to those on the ground thanks to a network of correspondents spread throughout France.

Like many TNT channels, NOVO19 will also launch its talk show called On a du nouveau , from Monday to Friday, at 6:25 p.m. and presented by Claire Arnoux, poached from beIN Sports. A 75-minute meeting that will deal with current events and topics related to the daily lives of the French: health, work, school, etc. "Everything that happens at home, in your neighborhood, your city, your family," summarizes the channel. Around the table, viewers will find columnist Claude Askolovitch, who left France Inter after presenting the press review for eight years. Among the columnists, journalists like Cécilie Conhoc or Constance Vilanova but also non-professionals like André Deleplace, winner of the 2017 season of Koh-Lanta .

The channel also announced three programs still in production and which will be broadcast in 2026. First Vis ma vie , a show that was broadcast on TF1 between 2001 and 2007 and presented by Laurence Ferrari then Flavie Flament, in which two strangers exchanged their daily lives: farmer, business manager, prison guard. Raphaël de Casabianca, former presenter of Rendez-vous en terre inconnue , will take the helm of Radio gaga , a show in which he will travel around France aboard his mobile studio to create a hyperlocal, ephemeral and unique radio station. NOVO19 will also adapt the show Cash in the Attic , in which experts will search French homes, attics and cellars to unearth treasures and resell them at auction.

The Ouest-France channel also plans to broadcast documentaries "that tell the story of France and the French," the daily newspaper reports, through portraits. On the program for the coming weeks: Our Everyday Heroes in Bayonne, Inside the Secrets of the Pal Zoo , and The Most Beautiful Country in the World; France of Mysteries.

"Popular and intergenerational" series and films will also be broadcast. The programming is expected to expand and refine over the coming months. The group aims to reach a 2% audience share among 25-49 year-olds within three and a half years and is aiming for financial breakeven by 2028.
