Colmar Wine Fair 2025: Five things to know about the band Texas before their concert on Thursday

Why did they choose the name Texas? It's a reference to Wim Wenders' film Paris, Texas (Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1984), and particularly to the music of Ry Cooder, of whom the band is a fan. Founded in 1985, the band led by singer Sharleen Spiteri has sold more than 40 million albums throughout its career. This will be its third appearance on the open-air theater stage, after 2006 and 2014, where it had a memorable end to the evening... locked in the Parc-Expo!
