Cheng Zhong in the spotlight at the Friends of the Organs summer auditions

The Friends of the Organs of the City of Langres welcomed Cheng Zhong this Sunday, August 10, for their traditional summer auditions. The organist, originally from Dijon, is a young 16-year-old prodigy, and did not fail to be applauded by the audience at Saint-Mammès Cathedral.
The summer auditions of the Friends of the Organs of the City of Langres continue at a good pace. Many listeners came to enjoy the new free concert, organized Sunday, August 10 at the Saint-Mammès Cathedral. Tourists also sat quietly at the entrance to the cathedral to enjoy the performance of Cheng Zhong, a young 16-year-old prodigy from Dijon. He is also the organist of the church of Talant (Côte-d'Or), and came to offer a repertoire including works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Nicolas de Grigny, Thierry Escaich, André Fleury, and Charles-Marie Widor. The audience applauded the young prodigy wholeheartedly.
The summer auditions of the Friends of the Organs of the City of Langres will come to a close this Sunday, August 17, at 5 p.m. Organist Daniel Pandolfo, originally from Metz, will have the difficult task of concluding this 2025 season.
