Last May, a couple and their two children were victims of a violent homejacking in a quiet hamlet in Calvados. The four criminals even injured their four-year-old son to learn the whereabouts of a safe that never existed.

According to Le Parisien , a family from Moutiers-en-Cinglais (Calvados) was held captive and tortured during the night of May 16-17. Three adults and a 4-year-old child were gagged and restrained by hooded men, who were trying to extort money from them. The little boy's finger was injured, and the attackers attempted to sever a finger and toe from two members of the family. Four suspects, from the Paris region, were arrested on July 29 in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis) and Herblay-sur-Seine (Val-d'Oise). Three were placed in pre-trial detention and one under judicial supervision. The police are still looking for possible accomplices.
