Martigues (13): a teacher from Langevin high school, slightly injured by a knife after an altercation with one of his colleagues in the staff room

In a press release, the Aix-Marseille Academy confirmed “a violent altercation in the staff room at the Paul Langevin high school in Martigues. The teacher who was the victim, slightly injured, was immediately taken care of by the school nurse and then by emergency services who arrived quickly on the scene. The teacher who started the dispute, carrying a small knife, was overpowered by other teachers. He is currently being questioned by the police. Within the school, a listening unit has been set up for staff, and the Academic Mobile Security Team (EMAS) is present on site.”
A teacher at Langevin High School in Martigues was injured this Wednesday morning in the staffroom following an altercation with one of his colleagues. The injured teacher was evacuated; his injuries are believed to be superficial. His colleague was quickly restrained.
The news shocked the high school students. “I was in the classroom when the announcement was made, but we didn't hear it! A man came to get us, saying that a teacher had been stood up,” said a first-year high school student. “It's still shocking, teachers, adults!” he continued, saying he felt “more or less safe” in the school.
