LFI MP Kerbat, who financed his drug purchases with money from the parliamentary reserve, has returned to the Assembly. For him, the victim in this case is the minor dealer from whom he obtained his supplies.

"Now I have strength." Nine months after being caught red-handed buying drugs on the Paris metro, Andy Kerbrat, a member of La France Insoumise (LFI), is returning to the National Assembly. The Mélenchon supporter now claims to be "abstinent," even though his addiction "lives on" within him.

Even though he thought about resigning, the Insoumis chose to remain a deputy to "uphold the dignity of people like [him]" . "I want to make it a fight" , insisted Andy Kerbrat. "We impose fines to solve drug problems and we don't accompany people towards the exit" , lamented Andy Kerbrat, denouncing an "absurd repression" . A repression which the minor who sold him drugs was allegedly the victim of, the day of his relapse. "This minor is all my suffering in reality, it's all the weight that I carry. The victim in this affair is not me, it's him" , he confided.
