In Italy, a meteorologist is struck by lightning while going out to pick up his cat (with an umbrella)

On August 30, Lorenzo Sestini, an amateur meteorologist known for his involvement in the ArezzoMeteo collective , went out into his garden to find his cat, frightened by a violent storm, reports Corriere della Sera .
He was holding an umbrella in his hand when lightning struck a few meters away from him: an olive tree and an iron pole were instantly struck down.
Mild electrocutionThe electric shock slightly struck the man. Surveillance video shows him struggling to let go of the umbrella, paralyzed by the energy of the shock.
" It's a lesson: I went out, overcome by anxiety for my pet... it was dangerous ," said the meteorologist, who was more scared than hurt.
The cat was found unharmed shortly after the incident, in a state of shock but with no apparent injuries.
