Hanouna Announced as Presidential Candidate: Already 5 Shock Measures That No Party Has Ever Dared

Cyril Hanouna is not yet officially a candidate for the 2027 presidential election. However, the former star presenter of C8 is reportedly preparing for this major event, and a program with some relatively detailed measures has even been leaked to the press, particularly in the columns of a far-right newspaper, Valeurs actuelles . And the least we can say is that several measures are striking; some have never even been mentioned by a candidate until now. According to a relatively liberal model, "Baba" could be extremely critical of the State and the intermediary body. His objective would be clear: that work pays more, even if it means cutting back on the current social model. Be careful, the main person concerned has not said or confirmed anything.
End of Social Security for all and minimum wage at 2,200 eurosValeurs actuelles has already revealed five shock measures that no party has ever dared to undertake, which the newspaper attributes to Cyril Hanouna. First of all, regarding salary, he would like to cut to the chase. Indeed, the implementation of a minimum wage of €2,200, or even €2,300, as revealed in Valeurs actuelles, is indeed on the cards. And this is a net salary; employer contributions for SMEs would be automatically reduced. VAT on basic necessities, however, would be completely abandoned because "the poorer we are, the more it (this tax) represents a significant portion of our salary," his entourage explained to the media outlet.
The problem is how to compensate for this shortfall? Hanouna has already found a solution: a new variable VAT indexed to wages. This is the second shock measure in his potential platform. Another flagship project, and surely crazy for some opponents of the potential future candidate: a new method of accessing social security, to which only taxpayers whose salary is less than €2,500 would be eligible. What about the wealthiest households? They would automatically have to subscribe to mutual insurance, if this program were to be confirmed. "Social security would thus constitute a safety net only for the most vulnerable, and we would stop accusing France of being the European champion of public spending," confides one of his close associates. But that's not all; two other shock measures are also part of his potential program mentioned by Valeurs actuelles.
"Baba's" major clean-up continues in his fight with the institutions; he plans to make drastic savings on the functioning of the State. In addition to the transition to a Sixth Republic (one and surely the only point in common with Jean-Luc Mélenchon), he also plans to regroup all the ministries within a super-ministry; only Bercy and Matignon would retain their independence and would not be affected by this merger. "like the Forbidden City in China," a close friend of the candidate told Valeurs actuelles.
And what about the MPs in this story? They may also have to tighten their belts. In other words, their numbers are expected to shrink by 30%. In the lower house of Parliament, there would be only 380 of them left to ensure national representation, with reduced salaries and the grand return of the role of deputy mayor. This section on state savings therefore includes the fourth and fifth flagship measures of Cyril Hanouna's potential program.
Hanouna envisions a "French-style Guantanamo"Hanouna's 2027 program could also include other important measures regarding the security aspect. He advocates for a "French-style Guantanamo." for the most dangerous inmates (pedophiles and terrorists), the construction of type 1 prisons (for thieves, harassers), and type 2 prisons (drug traffickers, robbers, serious criminals). A proposal that is reminiscent of the wish of the man currently in the battle for the presidency of the Republicans, Laurent Wauquiez.
The latter proposed at the beginning of April "that dangerous foreigners under OQTF be locked up in a detention center in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, outside of mainland France," in an interview with JDNews. Finally, Hanouna would like to end the excuse of minority for young people aged 16 to 18. This principle allows for almost systematic sentence mitigation for minors aged 13 to 17. This means that juvenile offenders are never sentenced to the same sentences as those handed down to an adult for the same offense. Exceptions to this sentence mitigation are rare, and they only apply to the most serious crimes. Cyril Hanouna would also like to enforce all prison sentences and apply a real life sentence. Regarding immigration, Cyril Hanouna would like nothing less than to reduce it to zero.
More unusually, the "king of the French public television" would like to be able to build a padel court at his own expense in the gardens of the Élysée Palace. Furthermore, he would have to give up his presidential salary. For him, the presidential office should in no way be a job but rather a mission. Moreover, despite this new supreme role, he would not be saying goodbye to television, quite the opposite: "Cyril would play the role of host, in the sense that he would organize major democratic debates. Every Sunday, he could host a discussion program, a mock face-to-face with the French people," summarizes a source in Valeurs actuelles.
