Chasse-sur-Rhône (38): Ahmed Boumaza, a 23-year-old Algerian in an irregular situation, known by five different identities, pretended to be an unaccompanied minor and committed a series of crimes

Ahmed Boumaza, a 23-year-old Algerian in an irregular situation, was sentenced to eight months in prison, accompanied by a three-year ban from French territory.
[…]When he was arrested, he declared himself a minor. Conducting various investigations, investigators discovered that the young man, who had entered France illegally several months earlier, was known by five different names. He was also suspected of involvement in a cigarette trafficking ring in Marseille. To verify his identity and age, a bone marrow examination was ordered by the prosecutor's office. He was ultimately certified as an adult, aged 23. He eventually admitted this. "When you're an unaccompanied minor, you can be taken in to shelters to sleep," admits the young man, who works illegally in Lyon's markets.
