Cleaning the stove burners is one of the most complex tasks in the house. Accumulated grease, burnt food residue, and the passage of time often take their toll.
But one expert cleaning influencer has revolutionized TikTok and Instagram with a homemade trick that's generating a lot of buzz: Raquel García (@rakidag), who has thousands of followers for her household tips, has shared her star formula with just two supermarket ingredients.
The mixture: baking soda + white vinegar. As easy as filling a bucket with water, adding two generous tablespoons of baking soda and a good splash of vinegar. As soon as you do this, the classic chemical fair fizzes. The effervescent reaction promises to "break down encrusted grease with barely any scrubbing." Let it sit for 15 minutes, add boiling water, wait for it to cool, and then simply wipe it with a sponge or soft brush.

Several experts have come forward to clarify the trick: although bubbling is visually very effective, mixing baking soda and vinegar negates some of the former's cleaning power. In reality, the most effective method is even simpler: make a thick paste of baking soda and water, apply it directly to the stovetop, let it sit for a while, and then rinse with hot water.
"Vinegar, on the other hand, is best reserved for other types of cleaning, such as removing limescale, but don't mix it with baking soda, as they neutralize each other," several professional cleaning profiles on social media explain.

Baking soda is one of the ingredients that works.

According to the expert, the trick has several advantages. One of them is that it doesn't contain harsh chemicals and is suitable for homes with sensitive skin. It's also inexpensive and easy to apply. You can also add lemon essential oil to enhance the scent.

Raquel insists that this method shouldn't replace regular cleansing. "It's best to do a daily or weekly checkup and prevent grease from accumulating for weeks. That way, you won't need to resort to more powerful methods each time," she explains in one of her viral videos.
