Bogotá city authorities continue their efforts to curb criminal activity inside TransMilenio stations. In light of this situation, an operation conducted by uniformed officers resulted in the arrest of adults and minors accused of theft. What was the official report?
According to a statement published on the District Administration's website, a group of police officers from the Mass Transportation Group arrested seven people, including three minors. These suspects were allegedly members of a gang dedicated to carrying out robberies within the urban transportation system operating in the capital.
The operation was carried out at one of the stations located near Avenida NQS, when the individuals were intimidating a group of people in an attempt to rob them of their belongings. What did authorities say about these arrests at TransMilenio?Regarding this matter, Lieutenant Colonel Maryam Moreno referred to the successful operation to arrest a criminal group. "Thanks to the immediate response of the uniformed officers conducting search and verification work, it was possible to locate the alleged perpetrators and recover several of the stolen items, which were identified by those affected as their own," she stated.
