Ten kilometers from one of the most famous urban centers in the entire province of Cádiz lies a corner of the coast that practically everyone who has the opportunity to visit it falls at its feet . In the municipality of Tarifa, but far from the hustle and bustle of this town, lies the Punta Paloma area, which is accessed via a road that seems straight out of a movie.
This is the A-2325 highway , which departs from the area's main road, the National Highway 340, which runs along the entire Cadiz coast. In just a few kilometers, it takes us through the area known as Punta Paloma. It's a somewhat difficult place to access, narrow and intricate, with limited parking, and very much integrated into the natural environment in which it is located. These are some of the reasons why it has remained relatively unspoiled throughout history.
Access to this privileged enclave is truly scenic, as the aforementioned road runs right behind the great Valdevaqueros Dune . In fact, as nature is in constant motion, there are times when the sand from the dune invades the road, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. It's important to note that both stopping and parking are prohibited in the area, so anyone who does so in an attempt to photograph this special place could face a dreaded traffic fine.
In any case, the panoramic view from the road is truly unique, especially when we take the road back, going down towards National Highway 340. At that moment, if we look to our left, we see the entire immensity of Valdevaqueros beach, the incredible blue of the ocean , and the silhouette of the city of Tarifa in the background.

From the small A-2325 road, which provides access to a former military zone, to some homes located in incredible locations and to the Paloma campsite , among other places, there are numerous paths that take us to the different coves that give life to the entire Punta Paloma area. These beaches are usually quite quiet, with highly recommended spots , but which in summer also don't escape the overcrowding that most of the coast of the province of Cádiz suffers. The most difficult thing will be parking, since there is little space in the entire area, so it is almost more interesting to enjoy Punta Paloma off-season, when other activities can also be enjoyed, such as hiking.
At the end of this beautiful road, we can also find some dining options where you can enjoy the wonderful culinary specialties of the area. Beach bars like El Mirlo or Justito de Copas are perfect places to enjoy good fresh fish.
Worthy of special mention are the colors the sky can display in this part of the Iberian Peninsula. On clear days, it seems as though you can reach Africa with your hands, and both sunrises and sunsets are unforgettable experiences.
