A tender and sad video went viral in the United States about Martini, a cat who forged a close bond with two adopted kittens after their owners took the kittens in for two weeks to care for them while they found their permanent homes.

However, to her owners' surprise, upon their departure, Martini clung to the suitcase the two kittens were in. In the footage, the feline jumps up and down, trying to find a way to stop the kittens from being taken away. According to Martini's owners, they lived harmoniously together upon the kittens' arrival, and they even copied everything their "adoptive mother" did at home.
“Phoebe and Joey used to follow Martini around and copy what he did; he was like their role model,” Alissa told Newsweek.
She added: “Every time we picked him up, she would jump and throw him so we couldn't leave. We were very confused because we had never seen this behavior before. It broke my heart to see her like this, but it also made me happy to see how much love she had to give,” the young woman confessed.

After their separation, Martini's owners noticed that after the two kittens left the house, Martini behaved differently. Every time someone closed the door, she ran toward it as if she were waiting for Phoebe and Joey to return.
In her TikTok post, Alissa wrote: “My heart hurts. Why did I think I was strong enough to do this?” Recommended: What does it mean for a person to like cats, according to psychology?
And after this, a sea of comments were not long in coming, some saying: “Saying goodbye is so hard, but what an incredible gift for that kitten” and another writing: “She has so much love to give to the next group of adopted kittens.”
