An unusual scene unfolded this Wednesday during the match between Zenit St. Petersburg and Akhmat Grozny in the Russian Cup group stage.

Tunisian defender Nader Ghandri, who had scored Akhmat Grozny's goal in the 73rd minute, was sent off in the 90th minute. On his way to the locker room, he gave his shirt to a fan in the stands.

However, the VAR called the referee, who overturned the red card. Ghandri, who was already in the tunnel, had to return and find the fan he had given his shirt to.

He returned it, amidst the laughter of everyone and the astonishment of Akhmat's coach, Stanislav Cherchesov, the same man who managed Russia in the 2018 World Cup.

What happened to the fan to whom Ghandri had given his jersey? He got his just reward after the match.

The defender sought out the fan and handed him the shirt again, something that was captured in a video circulating on social media. The fan also posed with the Tunisian flag.

At Zenit, the two Colombians in the squad, Mateo Cassierra and Wílmar Barrios, were on the bench.

The forward came on in the 72nd minute, replacing Aleksandr Sobolev, who had scored both of his team's goals in the 2-1 victory. Barrios didn't play in this match.

Cassierra has played 10 matches for Zenit this season, including the League and Russian Cup, totaling 565 minutes on the pitch. He has seven goals and one assist.

For his part, Barrios hasn't played in the Cup, but he's been a regular starter in the League this season, where he's played eight matches, all as a starter.
