Pope Leo XIV's first miracle? The relationship between Robert Prevost and the Chicago White Sox

Robert Prevost became the first American-born pope. He was elected Thursday and took the name Leo XIV.
Although the new pontiff is a Peruvian by adoption, he was born in Chicago on September 14, 1955. And now, a video circulating on social media shows him as an ordinary baseball fan, at a historic moment in Major League Baseball.
Pope Leo XIV attended the historic 2005 World Series as a fan Father Prevost appears in the stands at the first game of the World Series between the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros. At the time, he was living in his hometown, where he served as Prior Provincial of the Augustinian Province of Mother of Good Counsel.
As the hours passed, images continued to emerge that proved Prevost's fondness for the White Sox, including a photo of him in the stands during that same game against the Astros.

That season, the White Sox, with Venezuelan manager Ozzie Guillén, broke an 88-year drought and won the Fall Classic, sweeping the Astros in four games. Could this be considered the first miracle of Pope Leo XIV?

Prevost has several connections to sports. In an interview shortly after being proclaimed cardinal, he acknowledged that he was a great tennis fan and wished he had more time to continue playing.
Furthermore, the new Pope, who arrived in Peru in 1985 and, with several breaks in between, remained there until 2023, would also have another team in his heart: Alianza Lima.

A nun who worked alongside him in Chiclayo, Sister Margarita, stated in an interview with a local channel that Prevost was a fan of the "Intimates of Victory" and that he should certainly have a blue and white club shirt.
Alianza Lima is having one of its best years in the Copa Libertadores in 2025. It ended a 10-match winless streak in the tournament, eliminated Boca Juniors in the qualifying phase, and reached the group stage, where it still has a chance of qualifying.
