Dani Pedrosa is one of MotoGP 's most historic riders, having raced in all three categories (125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP) from 2001 to 2018 without interruption. The Catalan never won a MotoGP world title in his thirteen consecutive seasons in the premier class of the motorcycle championship.
The Spanish rider has finished runner-up three times (2007, 2010 and 2012) and third place overall three times (2008, 2009 and 2013), always riding for the Repsol Honda Team in the top class.
But he can boast of having three consecutive world championships , one in 125cc (2003) and two in 250cc (2004 and 2005) for the Telefónica Movistar Japanese factory as well.
He also holds a unique record: he is the only rider in history to have won at least one Grand Prix in 16 consecutive seasons (2002-2017). Pedrosa has 31 victories in the MotoGP World Championship and achieved 112 total podiums, 31 pole positions, and 44 fastest laps.
One of his greatest rivals on the track was Jorge Lorenzo. He shared many years with his compatriot in MotoGP. The two riders were featured on the Duralavita channel. At one point, the Mallorcan asked the Catalan: "Everyone knows about our rivalry, but did you ever hate me?"
To which Dani Pedrosa responded bluntly: “ Of course . Don't doubt it. We've known each other since we were 14 or 15, and ever since then, there's been a very strong rivalry that has grown. I can't deny that there were times when you were my direct rival and my motivation, so at the same time , I did hate you at times, yes.”
