Jhon Arias' deal has been unblocked: Fluminense's transfer to Wolverhampton is imminent, details to follow

Jhon Arias 's move to the Premier League appears imminent. The Colombian, who performed impressively in the Club World Cup with Fluminense, could soon be announced as a new Wolverhampton player.
The deal was on hold after the Brazilian club rejected Wolves' initial offer. However, Globoesporte reported that an agreement has already been reached between the clubs and the final transfer could be announced before the weekend.
Details of Jhon Arias' transfer to Wolverhampton The same outlet revealed details of the negotiation: "The sale will amount to 22 million euros for 90 percent of the Colombian's rights, with fixed and variable amounts depending on the player's performance at the English club," the publication says.

Globoesporte also explained how the transfer money will be distributed, including to Patriotas de Boyacá, which retained part of the rights.
"Fluminense will retain 10 percent of the rights in a future sale. Of the 22 million euros, Fluminense will receive 16 million while Patriotas of Colombia will receive 6 million. The contract will include a preferential purchase clause for Fluminense if Arias returns to Brazil," Globoesporte explained.

According to the same publication, Patriotas' role was key, as they accepted a reduction in the percentage they were owed when the transfer to Brazil was made in August 2021.
"The Colombian club agreed to reduce the 50 percent share it was entitled to following a request from Fluminense," he revealed, adding that the Rio de Janeiro club had already tried, unsuccessfully, to buy the remaining stake in the transfer to Patriotas, currently in Colombia's second division.
Jhon Arias' career Arias played for Patriotas in 2017, then went on loan to Llaneros and returned to Boyacá in 2019. He then went on loan to América de Cali, with whom he won the 2020 championship, and to Santa Fe, with whom he played the Copa Libertadores in 2021. There he met Fluminense as a rival.

He then played a key role in winning the Copa Libertadores in 2023 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2024. The first title opened the door for the club to the first edition of the Club World Cup in its new format, in which the Colombian was part of the ideal team. He had already won the Bronze Ball in the 2023 edition, in which the Flu lost the final to Manchester City.
