Hernán Torres, critical after Millonarios' failure in the League: 'Sometimes we don't know where we stand, what this badge represents'
Millonarios' manager, Hernán Torres, was deeply disappointed by the team's elimination from the Liga BetPlay after a 1-1 draw against the already relegated Envigado FC on Friday. The coach now hopes to meet with the board to begin making decisions with an eye toward 2026.
“It’s very sad. We talked about it with the group; we’re marked in history for being left out of the top eight,” Torres said at a press conference.

“In the 12 games I’ve managed in the League, I have to do an analysis, an evaluation, and I’ll have to have a meeting with the board and make decisions, because this team has to get back on its feet, it has to be what it has shown throughout the history of football, what Millonarios has been,” he added.

Hernán Torres on Millonarios' current situation: 'We're not making them look great'
When asked about the commitment and attitude of some players, Torres was very critical: “We’ve talked about it a lot. I’ve told them that sometimes we don’t know what team we’re on, or what this badge represents for Colombian football, for history, where we are, and what’s at stake. After they leave Millonarios, that’s when the fuss starts. Today, we’re not making it look great,” he said.
“That’s the way football is today, and it keeps changing: if you don’t perform, you’re out. It’s the same for us coaches. This is about results, and Millonarios demands results. We’ve conveyed that message so that when the decisions come, well, then what can we do? There’s no way around it,” Torres insisted.

“Since I’ve been here, almost everyone has played. I think only (Iván) Arboleda and (Ramiro) Brochero haven’t played; everyone else has. You have to make decisions, and that’s how we’re working to avoid making mistakes, because we can’t afford to make any,” he pointed out.
Hernán Torres' statistics with Millonarios
In the 12 matches that Torres managed in the semester, Millonarios achieved five victories, three draws and four defeats, with 13 goals scored and 14 conceded, for a performance of 52.7 percent.
Millonarios still has the option of fighting for a spot in the Copa Sudamericana through the reclassification process. In the final match, they will visit Boyacá Chicó in Tunja.
