Godoy Cruz: striker Agustín Auzmendi acknowledged that "we have to give more"

After the disappointing 0-0 draw against San Martín de San Juan , Godoy Cruz striker Agustín Auzmendi acknowledged that they need to improve, and he looked forward to the final stretch of the Professional League with some optimism: “It depends on us, we have to go for the win.”

Speaking to TNT Sports , the Tombino striker offered a frank analysis of what happened in the derby, lamenting the visitors' time-wasting tactics. “I think we were superior in the first half, then in the second half we struggled a bit more. But well, we didn't really play the game, we played very little. In fact, they wasted time the whole match, and they got the reward they came for with very little effort ,” he asserted.

However, Auzmendi acknowledged that they fell short and accepted the fans' discontent. "We have to give a little more, because it's clear we're not doing enough, but well, there are two matches left and we have to give it our all," he said.

When asked about the upcoming matches (Atlético Tucumán away and Deportivo Riestra at home), the striker reiterated that they need to give more: “Both matches are extremely tough. We know that we still depend on ourselves, so we have to give a little more , get the three points in Tucumán, and come back here at home and give our fans something to cheer about.”

Auzmendi didn't hide his concern about the situation, and acknowledged that they are keeping an eye on the other teams involved in the relegation battle. " Obviously, we always keep an eye on the standings ," he said.
