Ángel Sepúlveda put in a performance that didn't deserve Cruz Azul's 3-3 draw with Atlas. The Celeste side scored a hat trick in their visit to Atlas, but pride and home advantage motivated the Guadalajara natives to go on the attack. Eduardo Aguirre (17), Paraguayan Diego González (31), and Brazilian Matheus Doria (60) scored for the Rojinegros, while Ángel Sepúlveda scored a hat trick for La Máquina, starting in the 55th minute, then converted a penalty in the 58th minute, and then finished in the 90th minute. Atlas led by two goals in the first half and part of the second half. That's when Sepúlveda emerged, making a pair of near-consecutive saves to tie the score at two. It only lasted a couple of minutes, as Doria then put the home side ahead again. The victory seemed to be staying in Jalisco, but Sepúlveda appeared once again to salvage a draw and return to Mexico City with a point. The Celeste coach, Nicolás Larcamón, said that the last piece in attack is missing, despite Sepúlveda's performance. "It's essential to have someone in that position as soon as possible
," the Argentine warned.
