Colombia achieved a difficult qualification for the final phase of the U-17 Women's South American Championship.

The Colombian national team qualified for the final phase of the U-17 Women's South American Championship in the most agonizing way possible. A goal from Eidy Ruiz salvaged a 1-1 draw against Paraguay in Palmira and secured a spot with the help of the regulations.
The five teams in Group A finished the first round with five points, following Argentina's 2-1 victory over Chile in Manizales. The first tiebreaker was head-to-head, but due to a tie, the three spots were decided by goal difference.
There, Carlos Paniagua's team, which had struggled in its last two matches due to its lack of scoring, finished in first place by being two points ahead in all four matches of this phase. The 3-0 loss against Venezuela ultimately weighed heavily on the team.

Colombia had started off behind with a goal from Alison Barreiro in the 23rd minute, but in the 75th, Eidy Ruiz took advantage of a poor clearance by the Paraguayan goalkeeper to secure a draw and qualification.
Paraguay qualified as second-place finisher with five points and a goal difference of +1. Despite the defeat, Chile advanced as third-place finisher with a goal difference of zero. Argentina (-1) and Venezuela (-2) were eliminated.
Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, the qualifiers from Group B In Group B, Peru agonizingly secured the last spot in the hexagonal group stage, which will determine the four spots for the World Cup in Morocco in October. They came from behind to defeat Uruguay 2-1 at the Palogrande Stadium in Manizales to move into third place in the group.
The Uruguayans, who needed only a draw to qualify, took the lead with a goal from Agustina Márcora in the 25th minute.

However, the Peruvians' charge was enough to turn the score around. An own goal by Antonella Cordero in the 74th minute equalized, and then, in the 90th minute, a superb free kick by Mía García secured the win and qualification for Fiorella Valverde's team.
At the same time, at the Rivera Escobar Stadium in Palmira, Brazil, which had already qualified, secured first place in the group with a 5-1 thrashing of Ecuador. María Santos, in the 7th minute; Ravenna, in the 15th; Julia Faría, in the 24th; Pepe, in the 75th; and Evelin, from the penalty spot, in the 80th, scored the goals for the defending tournament champions.
