Andrés Llinás has already undergone surgery and is beginning his recovery process to return to playing for Millonarios. What was the injury he suffered?

Millonarios defender Andrés Llinás has begun his recovery process after the serious injury he suffered this Friday, in his team's 3-3 draw against Deportivo Cali at El Campín.
Llinás underwent successful surgery this Saturday after a fracture in the neck of his left foot, according to what the Blues player's family confirmed to EL TIEMPO.
According to the same source, Llinás's bone condition was found to be very good. The player was fitted with a small plate to reattach the bone.
The difference between the injuries of Andrés Llinás and Leonardo Castro Llinás's fracture was different from the one suffered by forward Leonardo Castro on March 30, in Millonarios' 2-0 win over Alianza Valledupar. That day, the forward broke his fibula and also required surgery. Castro is already doing field work and is expected to return to the field in September.

Instead, the bone Llinás broke was the talus, which, according to the Mayo Clinic website, is "a small bone" that "plays an important role in the ability to stand and move. It supports weight and helps the ankle move smoothly."

Llinás's recovery is estimated to take about four months, meaning he could miss the remainder of the season. For the right-sided center-back position, coach David González is counting on Sergio Mosquera and Álex Moreno Paz, who is also returning from a long injury.
Andrés Llinás's figures with Millonarios Llinás has become one of Millonarios' flagship players. He made his professional debut in April 2015 in the Copa Colombia, under manager Ricardo Lunari, but it wasn't until the arrival of Alberto Gamero, and after a stint with Valledupar in 2018, in the B division, that he began to find continuity.
He has won three titles with Millonarios: the 2023-I Liga, the 2022 Copa Colombia, and the 2024 Superliga, and has played 220 matches, spanning all competitions, with 10 goals scored and five assists.

Llinás' injury is bad news for Millonarios, who have not recovered in the second half of the season and, after the 1-1 draw between Once Caldas and Águilas Doradas this Saturday, have fallen back to last place in the league table, with just one point out of a possible 12.
Following Dimayor's decision to postpone the Bogotá derby that was scheduled to be played on Wednesday, at the request of the Bogotá administration, following serious disturbances between hooligans before the Damas Gratis concert at the Movistar Arena, Millonarios' next match will be on August 17, against Deportes Tolima in Ibagué (6:10 pm).
