S2 Group signs two military personnel to strengthen its cyber defense

It incorporates the reserve ship captain Enrique Cubeiro and the retired colonel José Núñez.
Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly necessary, and within the sector, cyber defense is gaining importance in the activities of specialized companies.
In the case of S2 Group, a company dedicated exclusively to cybersecurity, defense is one of its long-standing divisions, with contracts for, among other institutions, the Ministry of Defense.
This Valencian company has just announced the hiring of two retired military personnel to strengthen this area. They are Reserve Navy Captain Enrique Cubeiro , who joins as Head of Defense, and retired Colonel José Núñez as Defense Account Executive.
These additions, according to S2 Group, "respond to the company's sustained growth in cyber defense applied to military-grade OT platforms, deployment of capabilities in operational environments, and participation in national and international programs linked to the protection of critical systems."
The company is immersed in a three-year strategic plan that involves an investment of €200 million over five years, with which it hopes to increase its revenue tenfold, which currently stands at around €40 million. It will also increase its workforce from the current 700 employees to over 2,000 .
The tasksS2 has announced that Enrique Cubeiro will lead the technical and commercial strategy for the Defense area, focusing on the development and integration of cyber defense capabilities, both in the purely IT and OT areas—particularly those related to weapons and combat systems—in fixed and deployable configurations. He has extensive experience in cyber defense, having served successively as Chief of Operations, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Commander of the Joint Cyber Defense Command (MCCD) between 2013 and 2020, and Head of the Cyber Defense Area at the Directorate General of Armament and Material (DGAM) between 2020 and 2022.
José Núñez, for his part, brings extensive experience leading tactical and strategic programs for the Army and the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). He has led projects in electronic warfare (GAMO series), intelligence, command and control (C2) systems, and tactical capability maintenance. In the industrial field, he has more than seven years of experience in defense sector companies, including cybersecurity.
Both will work in close coordination with Vicente Ripoll , Strategic Senior Advisor of S2GRUPO and retired Brigadier General of the Communications Branch, who brings recognized experience in command and deployment of capabilities in the areas of CIS systems, electronic warfare (EW) and cyber defense operations, both in national and international missions and in national, EU and NATO headquarters.
