Huawei launches two new smartwatches with super battery: features and prices

Building on its extensive research and development infrastructure, Huawei has taken a new technological leap forward with its smartwatches . In the midst of a battle with Apple in the lifestyle sector and Garmin in the sports sector, the company launched two new smartwatches (each with two versions) with numerous technological advancements.
He did so this Thursday in Berlin , Germany, a city where the recent past and the near future converge like few others in the world.
Company spokespersons told Clarín that, at least for now, Huawei has no plans to return to selling smartphones in the ever-fluctuating Argentine market (at least that's how Chinese executives see it). Other executives weren't so emphatic and believe they should wait a little longer for the return.
The rejection of the country is surprising today, especially since many other Chinese companies have landed in Argentina for the first time last year, such as Oppo and Realme. And Huawei did so in 2010, only to withdraw from the country due to financial problems. Perhaps the Chinese don't know the saying, but we Argentines know that if you get burned by milk, you see a cow and cry.
All in all, the company is strong in the country in the smartwatch and headphone market.
The Chinese firm launched several products this Thursday at the magnificent Berlin Velodrome. It offers two versions of the Huawei Watch 5, 42 mm and 46 mm. Both models are circular and combine polished exteriors and finely detailed crowns, offering a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

They stand out for their X-Tap technology, which allows their sensor array to be "shifted" to the side of the watch. That is, they are no longer located on the base, but on the side. The three sensors that make up X-TAP are: electrocardiogram, PPG (blood flow), and a pressure-sensitive component.
The change in sensor position has a key reason. “The fingertip has a complete capillary and arterial network and allows measurements that are not affected by factors such as body hair, skin color, tattoos, or device fit. This method of measurement improves the accuracy and speed of results compared to the wrist ,” Huawei explained.
Thus, the new version of My Health Panorama is activated by pressing the X-TAP sensor for 3 seconds. In just three steps, each taking one minute, it performs a complete analysis and displays it as a compilation of 11 parameters, including: heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, stress, ECG, arrhythmia and pulse wave analysis, arterial stiffness detection, sleep breathing and lung assessment, heart rate, and emotions.
It also includes the Activity Rings feature, with three rings that track daily calories burned, exercise time, and the number of times a user stands up. The Stay Fit app manages calorie counting, calorie deficit monitoring, and weight gain or loss plans.

Smartwatches can efficiently display personal parameters , but they obviously can't replace a doctor. In this case, they can be used to detect an anomaly and then refer questions to a professional.
Another key detail is the super battery they have, which is important because these devices are also convenient to use while sleeping, thanks to their sleep sensors. In Long-Term Mode, the 42mm device lasts up to 7 days with sports, maps, remote shutter, and certain watch faces, with internet access only via Bluetooth. If connected to an eSIM, the battery life is cut in half.
The 46mm in Long Performance Mode lasts up to 11 days with sports, maps, remote shutter, select watch faces, Bluetooth-only internet access, and more, dropping to just over 4 days with eSIM.
As for the case, it's IP69+5 ATM certified, allowing it to be submerged up to 40 meters, making it ideal for water sports in fresh or salt water.

The 42, in its Beige and Gold versions, features a durable 904L stainless steel case, the same material used in Rolex models and shinier and more resistant to corrosion from sweat or saltwater than 316L stainless steel. In its black, white, and green colors, it features a 316L stainless steel case.
The 46-inch model comes in brown, silver, and purple and features a durable aerospace-grade titanium case, which is 45% lighter than stainless steel but 1.8 times stronger. The Black and Blue versions have a 316L stainless steel case.
The Watch 5 will be sold in the country for 799,999 pesos. The purple and beige versions go up to 899,999 pesos. Pre-sale prices are available until June 5 (for example, on Huawei's official Mercado Libre website) with discounts of up to almost 30% depending on the model. For example, the 799,999 model is now available for pre-sale at 574,999 pesos.
The Huawei Watch comes with the brand's own Harmony operating system and works very well with Android and Apple phones, as Clarín was able to prove.
The Fit Pro sells in Argentina for around 400 thousand pesos.
The square-shaped Fit 4 and 4 Pro models are ideal for sports and casual urban living and were also unveiled this Thursday in Berlin. Lightweight and compact, they are comfortable to wear all day. The Pro has a battery life of 7 days typical and 10 days maximum, and fully charges in one hour. The classic 4 has 7 days typical and 10 days maximum, and charges in 75 minutes.
For sports, you can receive pressure and altitude data on your watch thanks to the new built-in barometer, with information on altitude, maximum altitude, total elevation gain, total descent, and air pressure. It's specifically designed to support the new climbing, trail running, and stair climbing sport modes. In climbing mode, you'll receive information on distance traveled, elevation gain, calories burned, and more, along with information on horizontal terrain and elevations.
In its blue version, the Pro 4 includes the new 3D wave-design strap for swimming, in its green version it includes the innovative Janus-style woven strap, with an aerodynamic 3D texture and braiding that lets your skin breathe and is resistant, elastic and durable for exercises anywhere and in any condition.
Both are IP68 certified, perfect for supporting the watch's new water sports modes. The Pro adds 5 ATM, allowing it to offer new water sports modes, such as freediving.
The Pro is also more robust: it has an aircraft-grade aluminum case, a scratch-resistant sapphire display, and a titanium alloy bezel.
They run perfectly with Android and iOS mobiles.
Both models offer a significant leap in quality compared to the Fit 3, which is widely available in the Argentine market. The Fit 4 will sell for 279,999 pesos, and the Pro for 399,999 pesos. They are discounted until June 5.
The new FreeBuds.
At the Berlin Velodrome, the company also had time to unveil the FreeBuds 6, which feature a dual 11mm driver with True Sound. Having two drivers in an open-back earphone is a first for the market, delivering crisp highs and powerful bass.
"With the new VPU bone conduction microphone and AI algorithms, they offer high voice recognition and noise cancellation capabilities. Even in noise levels up to 95 dB, you can enjoy clear calls," the company said.
What's striking at first glance is their design. They're curved, with a glossy finish, and offer a comfortable fit. They provide up to 36 hours of listening time using the charging case (5 minutes of charging gives 2.5 hours of battery life) and have IP54 protection against dust and splashes.
