Elon Musk: All about his new project that promises to eliminate his competition

Elon Musk announced the launch of Grokipedia , a collaborative online encyclopedia that aims to compete directly with Wikipedia . The tycoon shared the news on his social media, stating that his goal is to show “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
The site, available at Grokipedia.com , features a minimalist interface and a search bar for exploring its more than 885,000 articles . Although Musk claims it will be a reliable and transparent source, it remains unclear how the content is generated or who oversees it.
While Wikipedia is written and edited by volunteers worldwide, some reports indicate that Grokipedia is powered by the same artificial intelligence model as xAI , Musk's company that also created the Grok chatbot. Some articles even appear to be direct adaptations of Wikipedia articles.
For its part, the Wikimedia Foundation , responsible for Wikipedia, stated that it is still “trying to understand how Grokipedia works.” In its statement, it emphasized that Wikipedia’s human-generated content is essential for training AI models, including rivals such as Grok, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
The creation of Grokipedia comes amid tensions between Musk and Wikipedia. The entrepreneur has accused the site of being "full of propaganda" and has asked users to stop donating to the platform. Furthermore, sectors of the American right have criticized Wikipedia for alleged ideological biases.
Despite the controversies, the Wikimedia Foundation defended its work: “Wikipedia is an encyclopedia written by humans, with transparent policies, voluntary oversight, and a culture of continuous improvement.”
For now, Grokipedia seems more like an artificial intelligence experiment than a real threat to the world's largest encyclopedia.
