The CIS again widens the PSOE's lead over the PP in the September poll.

The Center for Sociological Research (CIS) gives the PSOE a nine-point lead over the PP, the largest since April of last year in its September poll, with an estimated vote of 32.7% for the Socialists and 23.7% for the Popular Party.
The survey conducted for the Opinion Barometer of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) for the month of September raises the estimated vote for the PSOE by 5.7 points, while the PP drops by 2.8 points compared to the technical tie it had in the previous survey in July . The results are based on a sample of 4,122 interviews conducted between September 1 and 6 - after a summer marked by serious forest fires and political clashes over their management -
Vox also fell in this CIS barometer, remaining at 17.3% of the votes after losing 1.6 points, while the other political forces did not experience major changes, with Sumar in fourth place and 7.9% support, followed by Podemos, which achieved 4.3%.
Despite the wide gap between the PSOE and the PP, the Socialists have not recovered all the points they lost when the Cerdán case broke: the June poll gave them 34.3%, but the following month they fell to 27.0%.
In sixth place is ERC , with an estimated vote share of 2.1%, followed by Luis Pérez "Alvise" (SALF), with 1.6%; EH-Bildu (1.1%); Junts (0.8%); BNG (0.7%), PNV (0.6%); and CC and UPN , both with 0.1%.
Leaders' AssessmentRegarding the assessment of political leaders, the Prime Minister improved in this survey both his average score and the level of trust he inspires among citizens, while the leader of the People's Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, fell in these parameters.
More people prefer Sánchez as Prime Minister (24.8%), and Feijóo is also surpassed by Vox leader Santiago Abascal , who is preferred by 10.8%. The opposition leader's support drops to 9.7%.
On average, no leader passes, although the best rating is for Sánchez (4.23), followed by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz (4.13), Alberto Núñez Feijóo (3.55) and Abascal (2.93).
However, neither Sánchez nor Feijóo inspire much confidence in those surveyed by the CIS, as 68.9% distrust the Prime Minister and 80.9% distrust the PP leader.
What worries the SpanishHousing remains Spain's top problem , reflecting a surge in concern about immigration, which has overtaken corruption as the second-highest problem. There's also a record number of mentions of poor job quality, which ranks third.
Immigration rose from third to second most common concern among respondents (with 20.7% of mentions), and housing continued to be the main concern (30.4%), four-tenths of a point higher than in July.
Meanwhile, concern about corruption and fraud, which had soared to 25.3% in July following the outbreak of the case that led to the imprisonment of former PSOE Organization Secretary Santos Cerdán, fell from second to ninth place, with 10.9% of mentions.
And in third place are problems related to the quality of employment, which set a record with 17.1% of references, 3.3 points more than the July barometer, and become the third most common concern among Spaniards, closely followed by "the poor behavior of politicians" (16.9%).
