Rodrigo Londoño, president of the Comunes Party, underwent complex surgery and is in the 'recovery process'.

The Comunes party announced in an official statement that its president, Rodrigo Londoño, had to undergo surgery due to health problems, but is "stable and in the process of recovery."
Although no further details were given about the procedure the peace signer had to undergo, the political party took the opportunity to thank those who were concerned about his health.
'It has been successful' In the statement released by the party through its official media, they stated that it was a "complex surgical procedure," of which they gave no further details. The politician, they affirmed, is "stable" and continues to recover under the supervision of medical professionals.
Comunes, a political group created as part of the signing of the peace agreement with the FARC in 2016, stated that its leader, despite the health problems that necessitated surgery, wants to "continue contributing to peacebuilding in Colombia."

In the text, the political party also took the opportunity to greet the "members" who met recently and those who were monitoring their leader's health. They also issued a message at his request, in which they assured him of his willingness to "fulfill his commitments to the country."
"May this be an opportune moment to reiterate the call to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace to move forward expeditiously with the Single Resolution of Conclusions," the statement added.

Finally, the Commons also called for swift implementation of restorative sanctions in the proceedings facing the peace signatories nine years after the agreement, with the goal, according to the text, of "continuing to build truth, justice, and reconciliation alongside the victims of the conflict and the entire country."
Although it's unknown if this is related, the leader has had a history of serious health problems . In 2018 and 2022, the presidential candidate had to be hospitalized for illnesses that directly affect his heart function.

In recent days, the name of the president of the Comunes party has been heard in the form of a lengthy document he, along with five other former leaders of the defunct FARC, submitted in response to the indictment for various crimes for which the guerrilla group was accused.
In the text, which also justified in some sections having recruited minors who were "fleeing domestic violence" or having forced mothers to abort their children so as not to "bring children to war," the former leaders acknowledged their ultimate responsibility for crimes such as forced recruitment of minors and crimes related to sexual violence and cruel treatment of members of the structure.

This text was rejected by victims who described the perpetrators' acknowledgment of responsibility as "ambiguous." They "are outraged because there is no real acknowledgment," according to Sebastián Velásquez, a representative of the Colombian Federation of Victims.
On the other hand, he asserted that there will be an "outright rejection" and that the victims will oppose the filed document. "There are testimonies from victims who claim to have been recruited since they were 11 years old and that from then on they have been victims of sexual violence," he asserted. For him, the partial recognition attacks the pillar of truth on which the Special Jurisdiction for Peace is based.
