President Abinader makes changes to the Dominican Navy

President Luis Abinader ordered a series of changes to the top leadership of the Dominican Navy on Thursday through Decree No. 516-25 .
Rear Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez was promoted to the rank of vice admiral and appointed commander-in-chief of the Navy , replacing Vice Admiral Ramón Gustavo Betances Hernández.
Rear Admiral Anthony Manuel Tadeo Jiminián Objío was appointed deputy commander general , while Rear Admiral Juan Gilberto Núñez Abreu will assume the position of inspector general of the institution.
In the same decree, Vice Admiral Agustín Alberto Morillo Rodríguez was appointed Vice Minister for Naval and Coastal Affairs , replacing Vice Admiral Ramón Gustavo Betances Hernández, who was honorably retired .
The president also appointed Betances Hernández as special advisor to the president of the Republic.
With these changes, the Executive Branch is renewing the Navy's command leadership , which is responsible for maritime security and the protection of the Dominican coast.
