Manuel Adorni promised a “labor revolution” with the modernization promoted by the Government

Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni asserted that the "labor modernization " being promoted by Javier Milei's government will be "revolutionary." He explained that the project aims to adapt regulations to new jobs and maintained that there is broad consensus to move forward with the changes. "Things can't go on like this," the official declared.
Adorni clarified that the goal is not a traditional labor reform, but rather an update of the system. “It’s not a reform, it’s a modernization. Many of the jobs on which the labor law was based no longer exist. Many of the current jobs aren’t even considered. We’ve fallen behind,” he stated during an interview on La Casa Stream .
The official emphasized that the proposal “will be revolutionary” and that there is a “majority consensus” on the need to modify the regulations. “We will discuss the nuances later, but we agree that things can no longer continue as they are,” he stressed.
Manuel Adorni also questioned the current state of the labor market. “When there is 50% informality, you can’t say that modernization will take away rights, because those people already don’t have them. They need to be incorporated into the system,” he argued.
Along those lines, he considered that “any union leader who wants what’s best for their workers will agree.” He then added: “This labor system is indefensible.”
The Chief of Staff also criticized collective bargaining agreements. “An employee at an automotive plant with cutting-edge technology cannot have the same agreement as another employee with completely different processes 3,000 kilometers away. The idea is to regionalize the agreements between employers and employees,” he explained.
The official also spoke about his recent appointment as Chief of Staff following Guillermo Francos' departure. “I'm meeting with him tomorrow at the Casa Rosada. All cycles come to an end. Guillermo did a great job; laws were passed that might not have been possible without him. I hope I can live up to his standards,” he said.
Manuel Adorni affirmed that his new task will be to promote the reforms proposed by Javier Milei 's government and emphasized his relationship with cabinet members. "During these two years as presidential spokesperson, I maintained daily contact with all sectors. I have a good relationship with everyone," he remarked.
Furthermore, he denied any internal tensions and addressed his relationship with Santiago Caputo. “I’ve always gotten along well with him, from the day I met him. He’s one of the people I interact with daily,” he stated.
