In the days leading up to the meeting, the president met with members of the Liaison Committee and, according to reports, informed the business leaders of his commitment to the sector and his " willingness " to work on the tax withholdings. For his part, Economy Minister Luis Caputo also met with the business leaders and later said: "I didn't advance any measures because the president will announce that. They also appreciated our constant listening ."

"They see the efforts the government is making; it's a sector for which many measures have been taken that have benefited them," Caputo added. In a press conference, presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni commented: " It will surely be a speech that will be on the front page and in all of their media ." The National Government also announced that one of the "major upcoming goals" was to eliminate withholding taxes on the sector.

Regarding the agricultural sector, the president of the Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA), Carlos Castagnani, emphasized: " We don't lose hope that this is a favorable environment for some kind of announcement from the president ." "As producers, we await this message. Withholdings have always harmed the sector, but today more than ever, because there are areas and regions where they leave us with zero profitability or are bankrupt," he asserted.

Castagnani stated that the entire sector "is awaiting the president's speech, hoping for some announcement." Although there is no talk of eliminating withholding taxes, some sectors in particular are hoping for specific measures: grain producers are hoping for a new measure, such as the recent temporary reduction in withholding taxes on soybeans and corn; or the meat sector, which is hoping for the elimination of taxes on beef, which currently carries a 6.75% levy.
