Javier Milei said that Pope Francis was "Mileist" when it came to economics: "He was chainsawing like crazy in the Vatican."

Javier Milei spoke this Thursday about Francis , the relationship they maintained, and how his perception of him changed. The President said the Argentine Pope was "Mileiist" when it came to economics because " he was working like crazy with the chainsaw in the Vatican," in relation to the Holy See's accounts.
The Head of State speaks on the libertarian streaming service Carajo , where he is interviewed by Gordo Dan, a report that was supposed to take place on April 21, but was postponed until today because it coincided with the day of Francisco's death and the national mourning decreed by the Government.
The President attended the interview with his spokesperson and candidate for Buenos Aires legislator, Manuel Adorni. Milei is seeking to bolster her candidate in the City of Buenos Aires, where she faces Silvia Lospennato, Jorge Macri's candidate.
Milei said it was partly the opinions of economist Juan Carlos de Pablo, one of the President's closest associates and who regularly visits him in Olivos where they share opera evenings, that made him change his mind about Francis.

"De Pablo says that in the administrative sphere (Francisco) was a mile-high man, with a zero deficit," the President commented, to the astonished gaze of the host, Gordo Dan.
And he continued with what he considers was the Pope's economic management in the Vatican: " He cut expenses like crazy , put the accounts in order, he was a recalcitrant orthodox. He was crazy with the chainsaw ."
"When you begin to understand those characteristics, it becomes easier," he commented on the bond he maintained with the late pontiff.

Milei, in turn, revealed that she spoke with Francis "with some regularity." "In general, I didn't bother him because I had to call him on a landline. When he considered it necessary, I would..." she commented on who communicated with the other, while emphasizing that it was her Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, who interacted most frequently with Jorge Bergoglio.
"Sandra sent him reports fairly regularly , and they spoke. She visited him in Rome and didn't flaunt their relationship, and the photos only surfaced after Pope Francis's departure," she revealed.
He also referred to the criticism he received for not being present, as other heads of state had been, during Francis's open-casket funeral . Those who criticized him for his absence claimed he had arrived in Italy too late.
"Those idiots who said we were late are a bunch of underachievers and liars, because we went at the time the Vatican told us. They told us we had to be there on Saturday at a certain time, and on Saturday at that time we were there," the President explained angrily.
At the same time, he said that a funeral is "a ceremony that each person experiences as they see fit ." "One can't be so authoritarian as to impose one's own tastes on others. They're like the Republican nerds..." he commented, and he also criticized some of the opposition.
