Gonzalo Castillo returns to the political scene, will he run again?

The former presidential candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party ( PLD ), Gonzalo Castillo , returned to the political arena this Wednesday, highlighting the unity of the organization to which he belongs and what it means to " renew the hope of Dominicans ."

Castillo spoke through a message posted on his X account, in which he called on the PLD members to continue " working together with humility and commitment ."

He also emphasized that the political organization was a family forged "in struggle, service, and love " by the Dominican people.

Will he run again?

Something that caught the attention of the publication was the fact that Castillo accompanied the message with a photograph of himself wearing a PLD cap, which would be interpreted as a sign that he would opt for a candidacy .

Since losing the presidential election in May 2020, the politician has kept a low profile and in subsequent years has publicly expressed no interest in the opposition party's presidential candidacy.

Castillo is facing trial for alleged corruption and bribery, along with former ministers Donald Guerrero and José Ramón Peralta. All are free on bail and subject to other restraining orders .
