Clara Brugada announces the creation of a Social and Legal Advocacy Office for Women in Mexico City.

During her participation in the National Meeting of Women Lawyers , held at the Cloister of Sor Juana , the head of the Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada Molina , announced the creation of a Social and Legal Defense Office for Women , as well as a series of institutional measures to guarantee comprehensive care for victims of gender violence.

"We are going to build social and legal defense for women, so that they move from filing complaints to taking cases and defending women," Brugada stated.

Brugada announced that a specialized unit of the Mexico City Police will be launched, with a specific protocol to address cases of violence against women throughout the capital.

"This unit will operate throughout the city, with a protocol for cases of violence against women," he explained.

The governor also announced the expansion of the Siempre Vivas program, previously implemented in Iztapalapa when she was mayor. This program includes teams of trained women who will go door-to-door to talk with families about gender-based violence and provide support.

In addition, 100 Siempre Vivas homes and free centers will be built, safe spaces for care and shelter for women victims of violence.

As part of a national strategy, Brugada reported that, in coordination with the Government of Mexico , 1,000 kilometers of Caminos de Mujeres Libres y Seguras (Free and Safe Women's Paths) will be established, a gender-sensitive mobility proposal to ensure safe travel throughout the city.

"No woman will be left without access to justice due to a lack of resources," the head of government emphasized.

She also recognized the female lawyers present as a fundamental part of the national strategy to eradicate gender-based violence and ensure the effective defense of women's rights.

Clara Brugada concluded her remarks by reaffirming her commitment to public policies that guarantee freedom, justice, and fulfillment for women in Mexico City.

"Let us continue working with passion and conviction to build a Mexico where all women can live freely and fully, regardless of their origin, condition, or circumstance," she concluded.
