Adán Augusto López reappears: "I am at the service of the authorities."

The former governor of Tabasco says he is willing to cooperate in investigations into alleged criminal ties of his former collaborator .

After several days without any statement, Adán Augusto López Hernández , former governor of Tabasco and current coordinator of Morena in the Senate, reappeared on social media to take a position on the investigations linking his former Secretary of Public Security, Hernán Bermúdez Requena , with the criminal group La Barredora .

In a post on the social media platform X , the president of the Senate's Political Coordination Board declared that he is available to authorities for any investigation against him. He stated that he has not been formally summoned, but that he is ready to cooperate if required.

"It is public knowledge that investigations have been initiated against members of that government, and I believe it is essential that they appear before the authorities to clarify the facts," López Hernández wrote.

The Tabasco politician also used his message to defend his tenure at the head of the state government between 2019 and 2021, a period during which—according to him—a substantial reduction in crime rates was achieved.

"During my administration, we faced major security challenges, and we managed to substantially reduce criminal activity," he stated, attaching a graph to support his statement.

Hernán Bermúdez Requena , known as "Commander H," went from being one of Adán Augusto's closest associates during his administration in Tabasco to currently a fugitive from justice . The State Attorney General's Office confirmed that a five-month-old arrest warrant has been out for him for alleged ties to organized crime.

The former official is accused of possible links to La Barredora , a criminal group operating in the region. López Hernández directly distanced himself from the actions of his former collaborator and publicly urged him to be held accountable .

Adán Augusto's reappearance comes amid growing tensions within the Morena party, in a context where the fight against organized crime and transparency in government administration have become sensitive issues in the public eye.
