The Ministry of Education and the Boyacá Government deliver five new educational centers in the department.
On Thursday, July 17, Education Minister Daniel Rojas Medellín toured Boyacá, where he presented five new educational centers with the departmental government in the municipalities of Chitaraque, Santa Rosa de Viterbo, Turmequé, Pesca, and Úmbita.
According to the ministry, 141 educational infrastructure projects are being developed in Boyacá, most of them involving improvements to existing facilities and expansions.
According to the Ministry of Education, "there are 1,058 school buildings that benefit more than 36,000 students who now have new classrooms, expanded spaces, and improved learning environments."
The figures provided by the entity indicate a total investment of 260 billion pesos, of which the Ministry of Education contributed more than 68 percent. The remaining funds were provided by the Boyacá Governor's Office.
One of the projects delivered this Thursday was in the municipality of Chitaraque. It is a new urban campus for the San Pedro Claver School, which aims to benefit more than 200 children from preschool through fifth grade.

This campus was built with an investment of more than 6 billion pesos through the Educational Infrastructure Financing Fund (FFIE) , of which 79 percent was provided by the Ministry of Education and more than $1 billion by the department's Education Secretariat.
The new campus features seven new classrooms, four of which are specialized: a library, a bilingual classroom, a technology and multipurpose classroom, a kitchen-dining room, administrative areas, and 13 restrooms. The renovation totals 1,960 m².
It's worth remembering that San Pedro Claver School has 16 locations, 14 of which are rural and multi-grade.
"With this new urban campus, we are strengthening the learning of the youngest children, but our commitment goes much further: to the more than 820 Chitaracan students who are part of this institution," said Education Minister Daniel Rojas during his visit.
During the visit, the minister also handed over a new educational infrastructure project for the Casilda Zafra School in Santa Rosa de Viterbo and for the Industrial Institute of the municipality of Turmequé.
