SENA offers new cooking courses in several regions of the country: learn about the requirements and application methods.
The National Training Service (Sena) announced the launch of 10 different training programs in the culinary field, in which those interested can access:
- Technical careers
- Short courses
- Company formation
- Virtual training
This allows you to choose the alternative that best suits your goals, whether professional or academic.

- Duration: 2,200 hours
- Required educational level: basic secondary
- Title to be obtained: kitchen technician
- Modality: in-person
- Location: Tocaima, Cundinamarca
- Requirements: Pass the aptitude and knowledge test, as well as the assessments corresponding to phases 1 and 2 of the selection process. Additionally, applicants must not have any sensory or psychomotor limitations or suffer from any serious infectious diseases. Appropriate personal appearance and hygiene are also required, as is a medical certificate certifying fitness to handle food.
Basic cooking - short course:
- Duration: 60 hours
- Required educational level: not applicable
- Title to be obtained: special course in basic cooking
- Modality: in-person
- Location: Funes (Nariño), Momil (Córdoba), La Plata (Huila)
- Requirements: have a cover letter issued by the community and comply with the selection process established by the Center.

Basic regional cuisine - Company training:
- Duration: 72 hours
- Required educational level: not applicable
- Title to be obtained: special course in basic regional cuisine
- Modality: in-person
- Location: Tauramena (Casanare)
- Requirements: have a cover letter issued by the community and comply with the selection process established by the Center.

- In the search field, type the course you are interested in, in this case cooking.
- All available academic offerings will be displayed , and you can view the program details and requirements for each by clicking the arrow icon and then the "See more" option.
- Once you've found the training course you'd like to take, you can enroll by clicking "Registration" and following the steps provided on the platform.
