Road closures and restrictions in the Eastern Hills this weekend: Learn what's planned for Saturday and Sunday.

This weekend, roads in the Eastern Hills will undergo temporary operational changes due to Independence Day commemorations and the prioritization of security operations by the military.
According to the official website of the Bogotá Aqueduct, the Eastern Hills run through the capital city from south to north, spanning 13,142 hectares.
The creation of nature has an altitude of 2,650 to 3,600 meters above sea level.

The hills are home to a variety of species, including mammals, reptiles, a wide variety of birds, and insects native to the region.
The utility company announces that all trails will be closed next Sunday, July 20 , while on Saturday , July 19, there will be significant restrictions affecting both regular hikers and casual visitors.

The Eastern Hills are home to the ecosystem that provides water for the tributaries of the Tunjuelo, Fucha, Salitre, Torca, and Teusacá watersheds.
Which roads will be closed on July 20? The trail closures will be complete due to the lack of Bogotá National Police officers to properly monitor visitors' trails.
According to the Bogotá Water Supply Department, law enforcement will participate in logistical activities and the commemorative parade for the July 20th celebration.
Which routes will be partially restricted on July 19? Residents and visitors of the capital will be able to visit one of Bogotá's most recognizable stretches of street.
On Saturday, the Quebrada La Vieja trail will be partially open, only up to the Claro de Luna sector.
The Bogotá Aqueduct recommends that hikers adjust their plans and take into account the established schedules, which will be available on the company's official websites.

According to the announcement published by the aforementioned utility company, due to restrictions and partial closures, Bogotá will offer a guided tour for those interested.
The La Serranía and Kilometer 11 – Doce Quebradas trail will be the available option so that citizens can have another alternative to explore nature.
Which trails will be operating regularly? The Bogotá Mayor's Office announced that the trail to climb Monserrate Hill is the only one that will operate as usual on Saturdays and Sundays.
The trails are expected to resume normal operations starting Tuesday, July 22.

What are the recommendations of the Bogotá Aqueduct? The Water Administration called on the public to check the availability and conditions of the trails before their visit, using the mobile app or the official website www.acueducto.com.co.
Additionally, it is clarified that the authorized schedules and routes are available on the Caminos de los Cerros Orientales app , so that visitors can stay informed about trail availability. This is done in order to anticipate emergency situations or situations affecting the ecosystem.
