Black Moon in August: Here's the date, its meaning, and why it will be a unique phenomenon. Here's how you can enjoy it.

According to National Geographic and national media, several astronomical phenomena related to the phases of the moon will be recorded in 2025. In total, this year will feature four new observations, leading to the appearance of the so-called black moon.
According to reports, the first event occurred on June 25, 2025, when one of the orbiting satellites positioned itself between Earth and the Sun, reflecting its silhouette. However, this phenomenon could not be observed with the naked eye due to the distance and location conditions.

The second event was the full moon on July 24, 2025, which marked another milestone in the astronomical calendar.
When will we be able to observe the phenomenon? According to the astronomical calendar, the third Black Moon event of the year will occur on the night of August 23, 2025.
It should be noted that experts do not recognize the aforementioned term in the official vocabulary of astronomy. It has been considered a popular expression within the community.

National media outlets and the astronomy and history research TV program clarified that the lunar eclipse will not be visible to humans, as it represents a total darkening of the astronomical body.
Vision will not be able to detect the Moon, as it will be completely obscured, as if it were not in space.
The Black Moon, classified as seasonal, occurs every 33 months. The last time was on May 19, 2023, and the next time this phenomenon will occur will be on August 20, 2028, according to the website.
Why will the Black Moon be special? The event will be especially attractive because it will coincide with the end of the Perseid meteor shower. This event peaked between August 11 and 13, but those who missed it then will have a second chance.
According to the National Geographic report, the absence of moonlight in the sky will allow for better viewing of the meteor spectacle.

Experts recommend finding a spot away from light pollution and staying in a rural area to observe the sky more comfortably.
The phenomenon of stars, also colloquially known as shooting stars , are fragments of cosmic dust that, when they come into contact with the Earth's atmosphere, generate bright flashes visible to the naked eye.
